This piece has always been one of our favourites. This classic style, chunky, Ndoro single band ring in Sterling Silver has a 15 mm diameter hand engraved and unique Ndoro. This is our largest Ndoro ring and is bound to make a statement at any event or occasion. Mesmerizing and artistic. 

Ndoros are an ancient symbol of wealth and status used during the Great Zimbabwe Empire and across Africa, dating back to the 11th century.

Ndoros were originally made from conus shells and due to their high demand were later manufactured from porcelain. The people of Great Zimbabwe adopted this as their currency and into their culture. The number of Ndoros your wife wore directly indicated not only your wealth, but also your status in the community.

We handcraft every Ndoro ourselves in Zimbabwe, and are proud to say that due to their handmade nature, no two Ndoros are exactly the same.
