Our chunky Nyami Nyami necklace took its inspiration from the mighty Zambezi River God that Tonga legends tell us currently lives in Lake Kariba.
It is said that he demonstrated his displeasure with the building of the Kariba dam by sending cyclones, flash floods and landslides. This was due to the fact that the Kariba dam wall separated him from his wife that lived downstream.
Took quite a lot of time and energy to wrestle the god of the Zambezi down but we did it!! 😅
As is befitting of a god, we have made him from solid silver and hung him on a black leather cord. The head and tail of the Nyami Nyami is about 26 mm long.
