Sleeping Beauty Turquoise (yes, that's really its name!) has always held my attention. I learned silversmithing at school in Oregon and first saw it used by Native Americans in their traditional jewelry there. I was so excited to get some of these beauties. They were supposed to be used in one of my granite designs, but the moment I saw them, I knew where they needed to sleep!
We used sterling silver to make these earrings with 3 mm of turquoise. The earrings are approximately 20 mm wide and hand-down from the earlobe by 40 mm.
