Our silver elephant hair bangle inspired cuff earrings are designed with the same knots that you will find on the actual elephant hair bangles. These of course are not adjustable but purely for decoration.
Traditionally elephant hair bangles were made from elephant hair. We don't use elephant hair in our work as it is hard to know if it was just picked up off the ground or whether it comes from a poached elephant.
We hand draw the wire which we use and form the knots in a tradition that is over 1,500 years old. There is something very grounding in using a method that you know is an ancient as this form of jewellery.
